** MERRAN ESSON: Hand Building Techniques
Currently Head of Ceramics at the National Art School, Merran Esson has been at the forefront of Australian ceramics for many years. Merran will be demonstrating many of the techniques she uses to create her wonderful hand built pieces. Merran will be demonstrating with Keane’s White Raku
** MALCOLM GREENWOOD: Talk + Demonstration
One of Australia’s leading master potters, Malcolm Greenwood’s work is sublimely simple, showcasing classic shapes and innovative glazes. Malcolm will be discussing marketing ones work and demonstrating his hands-on production techniques. Malcolm will be demonstrating with Keane’s Master Blend Porcelain
** CAMERON WILLIAMS: Throwing Techniques
Cameron Williams has been designing and producing large-scale ceramics for over 25 years. He is back this year, by popular demand, and will once again be flexing those muscles, demonstrating his amazing large pot throwing techniques. Cameron will be demonstrating with Keane’s Ironstone.
** BRUCE MCWHINNEY: Talk + Demonstration
Currently Head Teacher at Northern Beaches College, Bruce has been a teacher for more than 30 years. Bruce will be demonstrate his spontaneous Oribe glazing and decorating techniques, talk about his throwing and making methods, as well as discuss his travels, influences and his latest project, The Ubud ArtVilla.
** SUE BUCKLE: Hand Building
Well-known ceramic artist, teacher and writer, Sue Buckle has been working with clay for over 20 years. Sue has a passion for introducing children to clay. This Open Day, Sue will be enlisting young volunteers to help hand build a large clay dragon, a fun project where audience participation is a must! Sue and her volunteers will be using Keane’s White Raku Paper Clay to build their dragon.
